BENEFITS
Boyd Metals recognizes that, in addition to offering competitive compensation, benefits are of utmost importance in today's workplace.  Boyd Metals offers a great benefits packaging including:


Medical Insurance
The first day of the month after an employee has completed 90 days service, health care coverage (including prescriptions) is provided to the employee at $1.00 per month.  At that time, dependent and family coverage is also available for a very reasonable monthly contribution. We are self insured and offer a preferred provider plan.

Prescription Drug Coverage
Included in the cost of our health coverage, the prescription plan includes a prescription drug card that entitles you to prescription drugs for a co-payment. For long-term maintenance drugs, there is a convenient mail order plan.

Dental Insurance
Provided at no cost to the employee and at a reasonable cost for dependents and family, this plan pays 100% of charges (from Delta PPO network providers) for preventive services such as cleaning and checkups, plus 80% (after $50 deductible) for general services such as fillings and extractions, and 50% for bridges and crowns. There is a $1,000 annual maximum on dental claims. Children's orthodontics charges are covered 50% up to a $1,000 lifetime maximum.

Vision Insurance
This benefit, contracted through VSP, is available at a reasonable cost to the employee.  In any 12-month period, the plan pays for the full cost of an eye exam, full cost of lenses and contacts (every 12 months) and full cost of frames (every 24 months).

Group Life Insurance
Provided at no cost to the employee, you receive life insurance in the amount of $25,000 and accidental death coverage of another $25,000.  Amount is paid to your beneficiary in case of your accidental death.

Optional Supplemental Life Insurance
Optional supplemental life insurance is available to you and your dependents at reasonable group rates depending on your age and amount of coverage desired.

401(k) with Employer Match
Our 401(k) savings plan allows you to save a percentage of your earnings, with the Company contributing a dollar for dollar match on contributions up to 3% of your pay and .50 on the dollar on an additional 2% of your pay.  401(k) funds plus investment gains accumulate on a tax-deferred basis, and the plan is subject to change.

Profit Sharing
To provide funds for retirement, Boyd Metals (after certain length-of-service requirements) may contribute to your individual Profit Sharing account an amount equaling a percent of your earnings, as determined by the Board of Directors.  Profit sharing funds plus investment gains accumulate on a tax-deferred basis, and the plan is subject to change.

Paid Vacation, Holidays & Personal Days
At Boyd Metals we value family and encourage our employees to take all paid days off due them.  Full-time employee receive paid days off in the form of vacation, holidays and personal days.  We provide eight paid holiday and up to five personal days upon completion of length-of-service requirements.

Training
Our training programs are not focused strictly on new hires. We offer continuing training, both in-house and outside the company.  We want to give you the tools to achieve both your professional development and personal goals.

Other Important Benefits
In addition to the programs highlighted above, Boyd Metals employees benefit from the company's contribution to Social Security, Unemployment Insurance, and Workers Compensation Insurance.
